He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Maynard Smith; his parents, Homer Smith and Ina Smith; and his siblings, James Smith, Thomas Smith, Mary Ward, Donald Smith, Robert Smith, Joyce DeSantis and Judy Ellis.

He is survived by: his daughters, Paula English Haigh (Steve) and Laurie Smith Bolan (Shawn); his siblings, David Smith (Gloria) and Cherie Hanna; his grandchildren, Logan English (Amy), Nichol English (Erin), Theodore and Curtis Bolan; his great grandchildren, Liam, Lochlan English and Pepper Kay English; his nephews, Roger Smith (Phyllis) and David Smith Jr. (Dianna); and his niece DeAnna Swann (Chris). He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
