With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melissa Williams Sweat of New Kent, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 12, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Melissa Williams farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Melissa Williams is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Williams and Vera Williams; and her in-laws, Homer and Ann Sweat. She is survived by: her husband Rusty; her children, Shane (Katey) and Lacey (Vinny); and her grandchildren, Mattie, Evalyn and Callen. She is also survived by family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge Chapel (9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that. Memorial Donations may be made in Melissa's name to UNC Children's Excellence Fund or UNC Children's Research Institute at Donate to UNC.
