He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Smith and Eugene Smith. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Gunter Smith; his children, Julie Smith-Baird (Chucky), Paul "Chip" Smith (Renee), Victoria Smith-Shumaker (Ricky) and Jonathan Smith (Heather); and his brothers, E. N. "Nick" Smith of Buckingham and Billy F. Smith of New Canton.
