He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold Toney and Elsie Toney; his daughter Michelle Leighty; his grandfather Smurf; his daughter Samantha Mertus (Ryan); his sister Susan Fahed; and his grandchildren, Ethan Leighty (Kathy Nguyen), Caleb Mertus and Isabelle Mertus.
The family will receive friends following the service, In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
