He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hanson "Hance" West and Blanche Bundick West. He is survived by: his wife Priscilla West (Lankford); his children, Susan Moran (Kevin), Polly Johns and William Hanson "Hance" West, Jr. (Jane); his grandchildren, Sara Headrick (Matt), Carleton Johns (Kristin), Christopher Johns, Anna Moran (Danilo), Kate Moran (Loghman Fattahi) of John Patrick and Alex West; and his great grandchildren, Parker Johns, Mary Headrick and Davis Johns. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
