He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Grey Hayes. He is survived by: his mother Charlotte Puckett Hayes; his children, Thomas Ray "TJ" Hayes Jr. of Nelson, VA and Summer Bynum-Lykins of Lincolnton, NC; his brothers, L. Allen Hayes (Teresa) of Nelson, VA and Linwood Martin Hayes (Renae) of Suwanee, GA; his stepgrandson Nate Bynum-Lykins; and his nephew Christopher Allen Hayes.
