She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Downey and Mary Royster Downey; her husband Lawrence Oliver Day; and her siblings, Davie, Samuel Downey, Jr., Effie Satterwhite and Lucy Downey.
She is survived by: her son Lawrence Edward Day (Carolyn) of Nelson, VA; her siblings, Wilma Howard of Oxford, NC, Marie Satterwhite of Baltimore, MD, Margaret Brown of Baltimore, MD and John Albert Downey of Durham, NC; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Downey of Oxford, NC and Lillian Downey of Durham, NC.
