With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas O'Geary Rice of Nelson, Virginia, born in Halifax, Virginia, who passed away on February 17, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur Rice and Lucy Morris Rice; his wife Gertie Newton Rice; and his siblings, Willie Glasscock, Rebecca Honeycutt, Dorothy Epps, William Rice, Emma Rice, Helen Newton and Bertha Elliott.
He is survived by: his children, Sheri Rice McGuire (William), Theresa Nelson (Dale) and Ray Long (Kathy); and his brothers, Thomas and Cecil Rice. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
