He was predeceased by: his wife Rita Hite Nelson; his parents, Matt Nelson and Jewel Nelson; and his brother Robert S. Nelson. He is survived by: his sons, Andy (Pam Nelson) and Chuck (Carole Nelson); his granddaughters, Lindsey Nelson Gieselman (Ryan), Paige Nelson Harris (DyQuan), Caroline Nelson and Elizabeth Nelson Moore (Jake); his great grandchildren, Blythe Gieselman, Everett Moore, Cutler Gieselman, Chandler Harris and Brooks Moore; his sister-in-law Lynn Nelson Yancey; his close friend Joe; and also Janet Sigman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
