We bid farewell to Stuart Wilson Guthrie Sr. of Nathalie, Virginia, born in Halifax, Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 29, 2024 at the age of 97. Stuart Wilson touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Guthrie and Daisy Cothran Guthrie; his wife Frances Powell Guthrie; and his siblings, Hubert Guthrie, Beatrice Davis, Durelle Guthrie, William Guthrie and Charlie Guthrie.
He is survived by: his children, Lee Anne Guthrie Newson of South Boston and Stuart Wilson Guthrie of Nathalie. He is also survived by Nieces and Nephews, Extended family.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 1st 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Powell Funeral Home (1603 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592). A graveside service was held on Monday, September 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Hunting Creek Baptist Church (4055 Hunting Creek Rd, Nathalie, VA 24577).
