He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Coleman Dawson and Arlene Myers Dawson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Osborne Dawson; his children, Jerry Dawson of Gretna, Ricky Norcutt (Sharon) of Callands, Shelby Slaughter (Frank) of South Carolina and Cathy Farley of Nathalie; his brother Herbert Dawson of Danville; and his grandchildren, Jamie Harris, Jennifer Harris, Sabrina Dawson, Jennifer George Young, Chris Norcutt, Danielle Fernandez, Brittany Farley and Dennis E. Farley, Jr.. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
