He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dewey and Lillian Faye McCaleb Kirby; and his siblings, Roscoe Kirby, Lillian Bradley and Wanda Walrond.

He is survived by: his wife Judith Wills Kirby of Narrows, VA; his children, Doug Kirby (Carolyn) of Narrows, VA and Deborah Kirby of Christiansburg, VA; and his grandchildren, Blake, Jackie Kirby of Narrows, VA and Thomas Dudding of Christiansburg, VA.
