He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Wallis Gardner and Mary Cochran Gardner; and his nephew Kevin Coon. He is survived by: his wife Judith Christine Jackson Gardner of Narrows; his children, Sharon Gardner Young (Glenn) of Christiansburg and Glenn Matthew Gardner (Kim) of Pearisburg; his sisters, Jane G. Coon (Bill) of Greensboro, NC and Judy G. Brown of Pearisburg; his grandsons, Reagan Gardner Young of Christiansburg and Caleb Gardner Young of Christiansburg; his nephew Keith Coon of Raleigh, NC; and his niece Shannon R. Brown of Pearisburg.
Memorial donations may be made to the local VFW in Narrows or to the Hale's Methodist Church.
