He was predeceased by: his parents, Miller Collins and Lucille Snidow Collins; his brothers, Wayne and Donald Collins; and his siblings-in-law, James Peck, Scott Osborne and Doretta Riddle Collins.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Martin Collins; his grandchildren, Cole Blaker, Chase Blaker, Chad Blaker and Cristin Blaker; his sisters, Bonnie Osborne of West Virginia, Betty Peck of Pearisburg and Diane Riggs (Willis) of Pembroke; and his siblings-in-law, Janice Collins of Elliston, Nellie Kelley and Gene Kelley. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and friends.
