He was predeceased by: his parents, Hurd Rutherford and Golda Mink Rutherford; his wife Glenna Osborne Rutherford; and his siblings, Patrick Rutherford and Rinda Rutherford.
He is survived by: his daughter Robin; his son-in-law Thomas Ford of Raleigh; his grandsons, Stephen Ford of Raleigh and Carson Ford of Raleigh; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Rutherford of Conway, Ron Osborne (Margaret) of Statesville and Jerry Osborne (Faye) of Mouth; his nieces, Cindi Rutherford Hucks of Conway, Christi Rutherford Coffin of Conway, Lisa Osborne Blevins of Mouth and Shelly Osborne Clampett of Independence, Virginia; and his pet Tessie.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Rugby Rescue Squad 1845 Rugby Road Mouth of Wilson, Virginia 24363.
