With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Everett Huffman of Mount Sidney, Virginia, who passed away on January 4, 2021 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Miley and Carrie Versa Huffman (Evers); his siblings, Wilda Wenger (Lacy), Geraldine Shifflett (Sam) and Paul Huffman (Flossie); and his grandson Luke Saufley.

He is survived by: his son-in-law Bill Chafin; his significant other Ellen Wine Huffman (Wine) of Mount Sidney; his daughters, Dianne Huffman Chafin (Bill), Debra Huffman (Pat Wade) and Dauria Huffman; his grandchildren, Brooke Chafin Campbell (Michael), Douglas Wrenn II (Melody), Brett Chafin (Shannon), JennaRose Wrenn Mapstone (Jared), Erik Saufley (Mary Jo) and Nick Saufley (Robert); his great grandchildren, Abby, Conner Campbell, Paige Chafin, Harrison, Matthias Mapstone, J. Harvey and Stella Wrenn; and also, Nelson Cline and Douglas Wrenn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p. m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Mount Sidney by Pastor Derek Boggs. (Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic all current guidelines and restrictions will be followed.).

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to Salem Lutheran Church, Post Office Box 38, Mount Sidney, Virginia 24467. A special thank you to Dr. James Lagrua for his care and friendship and to the Augusta Health Foundation Hospice of the Shenandoah.
