He is survived by: his son Stephen Graham Metcalfe (Beth); his grandson Patrick Lee Metcalfe; his wife Nancy Lee Metcalfe of Orange, VA.; his sons, Patrick (Randi) and William; his sister Pamela (Albert Adam); and his nieces and nephews, Krystle (Jim Walton), Eric Adam (Alicia) and Scott Adam.
He was a member of the Arbor Day Foundation and enjoyed planting new trees each year.
