He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Funkhouser and Charlotte Andrick Funkhouser; his wife Anna Dellinger Funkhouser; his children, Richard Funkhouser, Jr. (Judy) of Mount Jackson, Kathy Nicely (Jerry) of Middletown, Jerry Funkhouser (Laura) of Edinburg, Ronald Funkhouser, Sr. of Mount Jackson, Lawrence Funkhouser (Rhonda) of Mount Jackson and Wayne Funkhouser (Crystal) of Florence, SC.; his siblings, Nancy Ludwig (Merlyn) of Edinburg, Cleggett Funkhouser (Shirley) of Troutville and Ellen Bolt (Pete) of Mount Jackson; and also Linda Funkhouser. He was also cherished by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
