He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Lear and Cordula Miller Lear; and his brother Sherwood Lear. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lear; his children, Fonda Weaver (Steve) of Mt. Jackson, Laura (Lee Chapman) of Timberville, Rachel Lear of Harrisonburg and Brian Lear (Donna) of Mt. Jackson; his grandchildren, Dawson, Holden Lear, Charlotte, Derek Weaver and Deanna Chapman; his siblings, Scott, Thurston, Jarvis Lear and Serena Ryman; and his friends, Claire Gutshall and Willie Rodriguez.
