He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hyler and Mattie Elizabeth Hyler (Ayers); his former wife Barbara Hyler (Nicely); and his siblings, Charles Hyler, Frazier T. Hyler, Paul Hyler, Delmas Hyler, Richard Hyler, Vadnia Virginia Clark, Carolyn Waldron and Madeline Clark.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Carr (Dubby) of Harrisonburg and Jeffrey Hyler of Clearwater, FL; his stepdaughters, Deborah Rohrer (Charles) and Teresa Hupp (Brian); his brother Lawrence Ray Hyler; and his grandchildren, Kevin Hyler, DeEbra Carr, Jessica Carr and Meagan Tomczark-Martinkus.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service (208 S Main St, Bridgewater, VA 22812). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Service - Bridgewater (208 S Main St, Bridgewater, VA 22812). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the St. Paul Cemetery.
