He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Carper and Lucille Heatwole Carper; his spouse Shirley Persinger Carper; and his siblings, Charles Carper Jr., Richard Carper and Louise Kisamore.
He is survived by: his sons, Donald Lee Carper Jr. of Staunton, Jeffrey Wayne Carper (Cindy) of Mt. Crawford and Steven Troy Carper (Pam) of New Hope; his sisters, Mandell and Lois; his grandchildren, Sarah Price (Justin), Rebekah Craig (Brier), Lindsey Carper, Aaron Carper (Lauren) and Seth Carper (Madison); and his great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Kymber, Addalee, Arabella, Dakota and Scarlett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McMullen Funeral Home, 5784 Greenmount Road, Harrisonburg, VA to help offset final expenses.
