He was predeceased by: his parent Merle Martin; and his siblings, Walter Witmer, Daniel Witmer, Elsie Nason, Martha Lehman, Harry Witmer and Carl Witmer.
He is survived by: his parent Annie Catherine Witmer (Rhodes); his spouse Wilda Grace Knicely; his children, Emily Witmer of Mt, Betty Kinsinger of Waynesboro, Michael Witmer of Mt, Janice Orebaugh (Everette) of Mt, Clyde Witmer (Lorraine) of Monterey and Kathy Rau (Brian) of Weyers Cave; and his brother Jacob Witmer (Emma) of New Holland, PA. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made to Daniel Knicely, C/O the Land Purchase Fund, 6389 Scholars Road, Mt. Crawford, VA 22841.
