He was predeceased by: his mother Alice; and his brother Robert "Bubba" Brown. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Everett F. Brown, Jr. (Cathy) and Theresa Packett (Jimmy); his siblings, Hampton Brown (Lula) and Jenny Herbert (Jimmy); his brother-in-law Wayne H. Jenkins (Butchie); his grandchildren, Tiffany Wittman (Josh) and Everett F. Brown III; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Paxton and Colson; and his close friends, Larry Thrift and Donald Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department, in memory of Pete Brown-Montross: PO Box 222, Montross, VA 22520.
