He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey L. Gilman, Sr. and Ivy F. Gilman; his son Douglas Gilman; his daughter-in-law Gayle Gilman; and his siblings, Joyce Degen, Betty Marshall and Aubrey L. Gilman, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Sue Studds (Tony), Tracie Haggerty and Dennis Gilman; his grandchildren, Christopher Gilman, Catie and Sean Haggerty; and his pet Winston.
