He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Black and Margaret Darrough Bruce; and his brothers, Robert and Roy Bruce. He is survived by: his wife Carol Hogue; his son Jacob "Jake" Robert Bruce (Linghan Song) of Richmond; his grandson Connor Everett Song Bruce; and his sister-in-law Catherine Bruce of Richmond.
