Carol and Todd Haynes wrote a sympathy message

“Jean was such a wonderful woman and friend. I had no idea she passed away until today. I am saddened but also thankful I was privileged to know her and Dutch. We were new to Monterey and she was a person who welcomed us and helped our family find somewhere to live. She will always be remembered as a strong woman and a woman of confidence and class. Thank you for helping my husband when he was a trooper there and your kindness and love to me and our children. Thank you.”
