It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ella Rebecca Lightner of Monterey, Virginia, who passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee and Beulah Leas Harold (Hull); her husband Ernest Hartley Lightner; her grandchildren, Stephanie Louise Lightner and Coen Lightner; her siblings, Elsie Lee Harold, Robert Lee Harold Jr., Elena "Sue" Harris, Irene K. Wysong, Shirley Gutshall, Paul Kerns Harold, William R. Harold and Thelma Johns; and her daughter-in-law Brenda Lightner.
She is survived by: her sons, Ernest "Ernie" H. Lightner Jr. of Monterey, David Lightner (Dorothy) of Monterey, Herbert "Herb" Lightner (Teresa) of Monterey and Raymond Lightner (Jill) of Head Waters; her grandchildren, Christina Lightner-Collins (Creed), Melissa Harper (Chris), Trey Lightner (Taylor), Matlin Lightner (Lindsey), Robert Lightner (Davina), Jacob Lightner (Taylor), Ryan Lightner (Kirsten), Corey Lightner (Mariam), Tyler Lightner (Candace), Amanda Lightner, Chad Lightner (Kari), Chloe Lightner and Cayley Lightner; and her great grandchildren, Hunter Harper, Caston, Colton Lightner, Jackson, Everly Lightner, Landon, Easton, Allison Lightner, Will Lightner, Magnolia Lightner, Jase Moore, Kylee, Kash Lightner, Josh and Brandon Collins. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Obaugh Funeral Home - Highland County (8739 Highland Turnpike, McDowell, VA 24458). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
