She was predeceased by: her parents, George Edward and Virgie Belle Colaw (Swecker); her husband Austin L. Shepherd; her sons, Frank Colaw Stephenson and Boyd Wilson "Steve" Stephenson, Jr.; her great grandchild Elizabeth Whitelaw; and her siblings, Rebecca "Becky" Ann Hull, Virginia "Ginny" Curry, Mary "Mug" Margaret Ruddick, Paul, Wayne Edward, Cyrus D. and George "Goog" Colaw.
She is survived by: her children, Somers Stephenson (Steve Fullerton) of Monterey, Charlotte Stephenson (Richard Shamrock) of Monterey and Tom Stephenson of Monterey; her stepchildren, Elizabeth S. Conn of Fredericksburg and David W. Shepherd III of Lynchburg; her brother John David Colaw (Christine "Crissy") of Bolar; her grandchildren, Crysta, Erica, David, Dorothy Stephenson, Aaron, Adam Whitelaw and Danny Fullerton; and her great grandchildren, Rebecca, Suzanna Landrum, Andrew, Alyssa Whitelaw, Haley and Sadie Warner.
