He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Johns and Virgie Johns; and his son Mark Johns. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Johns; and his stepdaughters, Windy Mendez and June Deel. He is also survived by seven siblings; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
