It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Elton Floyd (Monroe, Virginia), born in Amherst, Virginia, who passed away on November 26, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Floyd and Eunice Jennings Floyd; and his siblings, Cecil, Leroy Floyd and Shirley F. Gowen.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Hughes Floyd; his children, J. A. Floyd (Kim), Karen F. Banton (Tony) and Dawn F. Floyd; his stepchildren, Steven Harvey (Barb), Howard Harvey (Bronwyen), Brian Harvey (Suzanne) and Pamela H. Howell (Tom); his sisters, Madeline Mawyer and Elsie Jessee; his grandchildren, Jason Floyd (Casey), Amanda Floyd, Brian Banton (Tabatha), Brittany Crawley (Daniel) and Damian Floyd (Nicole); and his stepdaughter Hope Collier (Tim). He is also survived by six step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Monroe.
