He was predeceased by: his son Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his sons, Brian Kennedy and Bob Kennedy (Sharon); and his grandchildren, John, Ryan, Elizabeth, Michael and James.

His family suggest memorial donations be made to Scruggs Fire Department.
