He was predeceased by: his wife Melva Gillaspie Basham; his parents, Oglesby Basham and Madeline Basham; and his siblings, Robert, Aubrey, Frank, Alcoy, Esker, Francis Bobbitt, Gertrude Fletcher, Dorothy Layne, Audrey Branch and Addie Dillon.
He is survived by: his daughter Donna; his son-in-law Mark Jacobs; his grandson Hunter Jacobs; and his sister Barbara Bostic. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
