He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Craig and Ruby Weaver Groves; his children, Maggie Corbin and Danny Peyton; and his siblings, Randy Groves, Gary D. Groves and Sharon.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Scott of Orange, Sharon Roach (Scotty) of Ruckersville, Kevin Michael Groves of Mine Run, Kraig Allen Groves of Colorado and Timothy Ray Breeden (Melissa) of Mine Run; and his siblings, Barry Groves of South Carolina and Judy Bailey. He is also survived by Several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and nieces, and nephews.
