He was predeceased by: his grandmothers, Pearl Howell Horn and Anna Pallaver; and his aunt Christine Harris. He is survived by: his parents, Robert John and Wilda Ann Merlie (Howell) of Waynesboro; his son Justin Merlie (Bree); his half-sisters, Kimberly Harris and Sharon Hintz; his grandchildren, Boe Merlie and Kaitlyn Merlie; his aunt Gladys Howell; and his close friend Tracy Bodkin.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Mary Cemetery.
