He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hongrover Smith and Alvah Gretta Robertson Smith; and his siblings, Robert Smith, Bernell "Buzzie" Smith and Edith Maxine Fraley.
He is survived by: his wife Therese "Terry" Ann Smith of Boonsboro, Maryland; his daughters, Melissa Anne Smith of Chesterfield and Tammie Sue Smith of Boonsboro; his granddaughter Keiara Taylor of Chesterfield; his siblings, Orlando Smith (Barbara) of Millboro, Reba Thurston of Glen Allen and Wanda Smith of Glen Allen; and his brother-in-law Dick Fraley of Emporia.
