He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. James Phineas Simmons and Rubie Benetta Carter Simmons; and his siblings, Jimmie Lee Simmons and Norma Jean Hager. He is survived by: his children, Carrie Simmons Scott (Michael) of Moyock, NC and Brian Neal Simmons of Midlothian, VA; his grandchildren, Haley McGregor (Kyle) of Maple, NC and Landon Potts of Moyock, NC; and his brother Furman Ray Simmons. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
