She was predeceased by: her parents, Wiley Wood Jr. and Ruth Wood; her stepmother Jane Wood; her brother Ted Wood; and her stepdaughter Katie Barton.
She is survived by: her husband Jonathan Barton; her daughters, Liza Stark (Alex Goldmark) and Archer Stark; and her siblings, Wiley Wood III and Dallas Ritter. She is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews.
Betsy was a passionate supporter of every child in Virginia's public schools, Life Net and UNOS Organ and Tissue donation, Virginia's Native Peoples, an incredible advocate for all things related to history.
