Deacon John Hicks Jr. Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Deacon John Hicks Jr. of Midlothian, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 27, 2024 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sallie Jarrell Hicks and Johnnie Hicks, Sr.; his wife Rev. Annie F. Hicks; his son-in-law Lamonte Tucker; and his siblings-in-law, Boston Benbow, Thomas Foots, Jr., Bishop Roy L. Foots, Lucille Hicks, Cleopatra Foots, Ella F. Fleming (Ernest) and Irene Robinson.

He is survived by: his children, Ricky (Patricia), Dwight Hicks (Desiree) and Jennifer Lewis (Shaqwan); his grandchildren, Brittney, Amber, Ciara, Sherika, Donavin, Deonte and Cory; his great grandchildren, Gabriela and Lux; his siblings, William Hicks (Diane), Arthur James Hicks, Fannie Benbow and Lugenia Wiliams (Curtis); and his siblings-in-law, Rev. Laura S. Foots, Geraldine F. Pearson, Madeline F. Evans, Rebecca F. Evans (Steven) and Rev. Altony Foote (Gloria).

Viewing was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A wake was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Evangelistic Church (9101 Hull Street Rd N, Richmond, VA 23236). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home (215 US Hwy 158 E, Littleton, NC 27850).
