He is survived by: his wife Lynn Hurt Barker; his children, Jason Christopher Barker and Erin Hurt Sapienza; his son-in-law Paul Sapienza; his son Joseph Edward Hurt, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Dorothy Hurt; his granddaughter Mattie Windsor Hurt; and his siblings, Jamie Barker, Claude Barker (Jean), Dennis Barker (Sandra), Imogene Bishop (Tom) and Lovelene Clary.
