He was predeceased by: his brother Hans; and his father Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Karen Sue of Midland; his mother Inge Wertz; his stepfather Bernie Wertz; and his sisters, Susan Kearney and Sandra Lee LaBanca. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the SPCA or National Park Foundation.
