It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edna Mae Newman Hurd of Middletown, Virginia, who passed away on July 7, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Newman and Catherine Newman of Middletown Virginia; her husband Austin L. Hurd; her sisters, Corinna Cain, Sally Asbury, Josie Bogle, Julia Smith and Frances Nickens; and her nephew Charles Newman.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Davis Newman (Apey) of Raleigh, N. C., Fontella Newman of Middletown and Trudy Newman of Middletown; her grandsons, Devon Newman of Edinburg and Zackary Newman of Strasburg Va; and her siblings, Cindy Newman Williams of Fredericksburg, VA., Anna Shane, Rebecca Finally of Winchester Va, Steven Louis Newman of Strasburg, VA., Bobby Newman, David Newman, Amos Williams and John Williams.
