He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence C., Jr. and Louise T. Chewning; his spouse Susan Rae Owings; his sons, Conway Chewning, IV (Kathy Cromartie) and Patrick L. Chewning (Dorian Brown); his grandsons, Keller and Quinn Chewning; and his siblings, Patricia Young (William Young, Jr.), Thomas Chewning (Nancy) of Richmond and Robert Chewning (Anne) of Richmond.
