He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Stauffer and Leah Stahl Stauffer; his sons, Michael Jeffery Stauffer and William Gary Stauffer; and his sister Marilyn S. Markley.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Boole Stauffer; his children, Lynn E. Stauffer, Jr. (Carolyn Bloomer) of Sarasota, FL and Janice Recker (Rick) of Georgetown, SC; and his grandchildren, Holly, Melanie, Janene, Gary, Chris, Vicky and Michael, Jr.. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great grandson.
