He was predeceased by: his parents, John Duty and Martha Duty; his daughter Linda Duffey; and his siblings, Walter, James, Robert Duty, Bertha Armentrout and Maxie Lee Sloan.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Thompson (Mike) of Jetersville, VA, Vicky Lipscomb (Randy) of Farmville, VA, Lisa Mann (Jeff) of Crewe, VA and John W. Duty (Angela) of Keysville, VA.; his close friend Joyce Rose; and his siblings, Thaida Isaacs, Mary Ellen Lafoon, Minnie Faye Duty-Felbush and Grover Duty. He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
