She was predeceased by: her parents, Bobby Powell and Merline Powell; and her son Chris Tate. She is survived by: her close friend Harrison; her sons, Adam and Brian Tate; her grandson Nathaniel Tate; her sister Gwen Christian; her close friends, Jimmy Jenkins and Carolyn Seay; and her caregivers, Teresa Acors, Christine Marshell and Loryn Ingram.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home (8014 Lee Davis Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23111). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Signal Hill Memorial Park (12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd, Hanover, VA 23069).
