She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph E. Harris; her daughter Gina M. Jeffries; her parents, Sadie Claire Carter and Armstead T. Carter, Sr.; and her son-in-law Hugh W. Taylor, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Judith Taylor, Sharon Barnette, Thomas Edward Johnson and Russell Caine; and her sister Yvonne A. Evans. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
