He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Douglas Chumney Sr. and Nancy Louise Chumney of Richmond; his wife Vera; his sons, Kirk D. Chumney, Craig M. Chumney (Elizabeth Parker) and Marc C. Chumney; his grandsons, Trent D., Richard F. and Ryder J. Chumney; and his sister Joan C. Gibson (James Gibson).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hanover Humane Society.
