Nellie Farrar Tye Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 13, 2024, at the age of 90, Nellie Farrar Tye of Mechanicsville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Edward Tye, Sr.; her parents, George Cary Farrar, Sr. and Nellie Parker Kidd Farrar; her son Stephen Craig Tye; her son-in-law Neal Currin McKissick; and her siblings, George Cary Farrar, Jr., Walter Grayson Farrar and Barbara Farrar Wilkinson.
She is survived by: her children, John E. Tye, Jr. (Cora), Earl W. Tye (Leslie), Sharon T. Burcham (Chic), Alison T. McKissick and Mary T. Nelson (Steve); and her sister Mary F. Wright. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Woody Funeral Home - Atlee Chapel (9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of her son, Stephen Craig Tye, may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
