He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise H. and Frank Simms Sr.; his wife Virginia C. Simms; and his siblings, Louise S. Smith, Joyce S. Rapp and Stanley F. Simms Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Beverly S. Spruill (Bill) and Marvin A. Simms Jr. (Susan); his grandchildren, Yevonne S. Chandler (Cary), Amber Simms, Todd Spruill (Angie), Craig Spruill (Ashlee) and Troy Spruill; and his sister-in-law Lee C. Smith. He is also survived by three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons.
