Lorraine May Worrell Obituary

Our loving wife, mother, and Nana passed away at the age of 63, with her husband and daughters by her side. Lorraine was born the second of seven children, on September 29, 1957 in Athol, MA to Louis and June (Bass) Nelson. She graduated from Pioneer Valley Academy in in 1976. After that she received her LPN and RN degrees in Maryland where she raised her two daughters, Jessica and Jamie and where she worked as a school nurse at CT Reed Elementary before meeting and marrying her husband Frank in 2009 and beginning their wonderful life together in Virginia, blending their families and loving each other's daughter's as their own, as she continued her passion for School Nursing at Amelia Street and Carver Elementary.

She always had a desire to continue her education and in 2015 she completed her BSN at VCU. Lorraine adored many things in her life: Her husband, grandchildren, getting flowers, birds, lighthouses, traveling, her plants, and making new friends. Lorraine will be remembered as a fighter who did everything she could to stay with us for as long as she could, her infectious smile, quick wit, her love of family dinners, any holiday or any reason to celebrate or travel, singing, and her love for the Lord will always be remembered.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her father Louis "Louie", and her brother, Vernon. She is survived by her husband Frank, who she spent eleven wonderful years with; her mother, June; her three daughters, Jessica (Drew), Jamie, and Amanda (Barry); and her grandchildren, Allison, Alex, Ethan, Maddie, Sarah, and Aisling, who she absolutely adored. She was so proud to be their Nana, and bragged about their accomplishments big and small endlessly; also survived by her siblings, Victor (Linda), Kathy (David), Linda (Rick), Debbie (Carl), and Rebecca; and several cousins, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends who were family.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Monaghan Funeral home from 4 - 6 p.m. followed by a private service at the family farm on Wednesday morning.
